ISSOS prides itself on its professional, highly-qualified and motivated staff. All of our staff are carefully selected for their qualifications, expertise & experience and bring with them an energy and enthusiasm for teaching and interacting with young people within both our academic and extra-curricular programs. The success of our programs rests on the dedication and enthusiasm of our staff and their common goal of making ISSOS a truly unique and exciting experience for every student. We are looking for charismatic, inspirational individuals who are experienced in leading, motivating and encouraging a group of young people.

All applicants are interviewed by ISSOS staff and are subject to all of the necessary legal background checked provided by Disclosure Scotland. Once hired, staff will attend a 3-day orientation where they will undergo the rigorous ISSOS training program.

 

Summer School Counselor        

We are looking for people with a sense of fun and adventure, a love of working with young people and a Summer School counselors Summer School counselors desire to have a great summer!

As an ISSOS Counselor you will be responsible for the pastoral care of a group of students ensuring their experience is fun and safe. Your responsibilities will include being a role model and the first point of contact for students, caring for their safety and wellbeing and organizing activities. A counselor takes on many roles: friend, sibling, parent, teacher and leader all rolled into one.

As a team of counselors you will organize all evening programs, which range from sporting activities to creative nights and have included talent shows, highland games and capture the flag. Counselors will also run and supervise cultural trips.  All of our counselors must be enthusiastic, energetic, caring, have a good sense of fun and be able to connect with 13- 18 year olds.

Academic & Elective Staff

The academic and elective programs at ISSOS are taught by leading professionals in their field. As an ISSOS teacher, you will have your own class of international students aged between 13 – 18 years old. All of our teachers are encouraged to bring their own experience and personality to each class and create their own lesson plans. ISSOS is dedicated to encouraging all students, regardless of ability, and to unlocking every student’s strengths and helping them reach their full potential. Classes are intentionally kept small in order to provide individual attention, personalised instruction and create an encouraging and supportive environment for students to learn while having fun and making new friends from around the world. Workshops

In addition to our scheduled programs we also offer specialised workshops in all of our academic and elective programs. These workshops are taught by leaders in their specific field and cover a range of topics. If you would like to provide a workshop on a relevant subject please contact us to discuss this further.

 

English Language Teachers

At ISSOS, all of our English Language Teachers are CELTA/ TESOL qualified with experience in teaching young people. Working as a team, the English Teachers will have the opportunity to meet and evaluate each English Language student’s ability and divide the group into smaller classes. Each teacher will be responsible for a distinct ability level and will assist students to become proficient in the English language. Each English Teacher is responsible for providing an exciting and challenging syllabus where students can improve their conversational skills including their grasp of colloquial language, develop their understanding and use of English grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing and listening skills. ISSOS is looking for English Teachers who can provide a nurturing yet challenging atmosphere with individual attention and good classroom management skills.
