International Baccalaureate Summer Program
The International Baccalaureate is a challenging and demanding summer program and whether you are feeling left behind or simply want to get even further ahead we want to help give you the skills and experience that will enable you to feel prepared, confident and ready to achieve your personal best.

The IB is widely acknowledged as one of the most challenging qualifications available to young people today and our IB summer program combines supervised individual research and study periods with personal attention from highly qualified teachers and mentors. Designed to support students to maximise their academic achievement and IB experience. We offer two IB summer programs for students at different stages of the IB program: Pre-IB Course and Extended Essay Course.
Pre IB Summer Course
This program is available in both St Andrews and Cambridge.
Our pre-IB summer school course is designed to prepare students who are planning to start the IB Diploma Program. Focusing on improving work habits and general academic performance, students develop a range of academic skills such as critical thinking, writing, and internet research, all of which are essential for success in IB.

- Research skills
All students work with tutors to produce IB level essays on subjects of their choice.
Our aim is to improve the study habits of every student and prepare them for their final years of high school.
IB Extended Essay Summer Course
This program is only available in St Andrews.

The IB Extended Essay summer school course is designed to offer all students currently working towards their IB extended essay the chance to combine interactive skills seminars and in-depth individual research with personal attention from highly qualified mentors.
Seminars cover a wide variety of essential topics, designed to equip students with the know-how, skills, experience and confidence necessary to achieve their personal best as well as to pave the way for success in higher education.
- Essay writing (including research techniques, outlining and structuring an argument, editing and formatting)
- Oral presentations and public speaking
- Independent study
- Time management and organization
- Qualified supervisors and mentors to help students access the materials they require
Supervised individual research periods allow our summer students to put these skills into action and to make significant progress on their extended essay. All students will leave with a structured plan as to how to tackle the remainder of the extended essay and the necessary skills to tackle future essays both in school and at university.
