Summer School Day Trips & Activities

Summer School trips are scheduled every Wednesday afternoon and weekends are reserved for a variety of day trips and summer school activities and time is also set aside for students to explore the idyllic location. All summer school trips are designed to introduce students to the UK’s culture, vibrant cities and breathtaking scenery while providing a fun-filled and well-earned break from timetabled classes.

St Andrews Trips

On Wednesdays students can choose from:

  • Glamis Castle
    Childhood home of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother and one of Scotland most beautiful Castles.
  • The Scottish Deer Centre
    A chance to see and interact with some of Scotland best loved wildlife. Students will have the opportunity to feed a bird of prey and some Scottish Deer.  
  • Sensation Science Centre
    Explore over 80 hands on exhibits and discover more about your own DNA and fingerprints in exciting workshops. 
  • Elie Watersports
    Go banana boating, kayaking, pedal boating and sailing.

Saturday Trips 

  • Edinburgh; Visit Scotland's beautiful capital. Discover Edinburgh Castle, wander along Princes Street, home to some of Edinburgh's best shops, take an underground ghost tour and discover the city's haunted past. 
  • Glasgow; Experience Scotland's 'city of culture and architecture', internationally renowned for its Victorian architecture and fantastic selection of museums and shops. Visit Scotland’s best loved gallery and museum, The Kelvingrove Art Gallery and shop in one of Europes top shopping cities.

Discover and experience Scotland, the best small country in the world. Students will not be disappointed!

 

Cambridge day trips

Cambridge Wednesday Trips

  • Ely Cathedral; One of England's most beautiful and largest Cathedrals, famous for its Octagon Tower and home to the only national museum dedicated to stained glass.
  • Shepreth Wildlife Park; Explore the big cat house home to tigers, lynx and mountain lions. This wildlife park is one of the best in the UK and is home to a plethora of animals. In addition students will have time to have a go in the adventure park and have a go on the zip wire. 
  • Imperial War Museum - Duxford; The Imperial War Museum in Duxford is Europe's premier aviation museum. This former battle of Britain fighter station features an unrivaled display of fighter aircrafts and  vehicles from spitfires and flying fortress to Concorde.

Saturday Trips

  • Stratford Upon Avon: Recently voted one of the best destinations in the UK, Stratford upon Avon is the world famous birthplace of William Shakespear and home to The Royal Shakespear Company. Students will visit the RSC and experience a  tour while having time to explore this fantastic town and take a trip down the river.
  • Windsor; Visit the official residency of Her Majesty the Queen, Windsor Castle and experience the changing of the guards. Windsor is a beautiful and unmissable city.
