Filming on the beachThe International Summer School of Scotland offers its students the unique opportunity to discover the fascinating world of film-making and let their imaginations run free. Over three weeks our summer film course will give students a practical introduction to all aspects of film craft through a combination of interactive seminars, technical training and hands-on experience behind the camera. Armed with this knowledge, students will then create their very own short films to be screened in front of the entire Summer School.

Throughout the summer film course, students of all ability levels will benefit from expert tuition on script writing, directing, production management, cinematography and editing right through to location scouting and set design. Each student will also receive instruction in the use of top of the line Sony HD digital cameras and learn to edit with Final Cut Pro 5. Working in small teams, students will then learn to work within a production crew taking turns to direct, produce and film their own unique films.

Students taking our Film elective will have the exclusive opportunity to visit The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and to take part in a workshop.
